Honiara, 4 July 2025 —BRED Bank Solomon marked the country’s 47th Independence anniversary with a special flag raising ceremony at its Kukum BRED Haus on Friday morning. The event, held from 8:15 to 8:50 AM, brought together bank staff and members of the public in a show of national pride and unity.
The ceremony featured remarks from BRED Bank CEO Mr. Owen Thomson, who extended heartfelt thanks to the hardworking staff for their dedication and contributions. Branch Manager Ms. Christina Tumuri and Operations Manager Ms. Gladys Kaloa also addressed the gathering.
Ms. Kaloa reflected on the significance of Independence Day, highlighting traditional Solomon Islands financial practices like the barter system, and the country’s journey since gaining independence on 7 July 1978.
She emphasized that “change begins within us” and celebrated the strength found in the nation’s diversity and cultural heritage.
The event concluded with a strong patriotic message: a salute to the nation, and a call of unity as BRED Bank Solomon continues to serve the people since its establishment in 2016.
