Today (Tuesday 8th July 2025), the National Parliament of Solomon Islands proudly welcomed students from Adaua Secondary School in Malaita Province for what was surely their first experience visiting the highest legislative body in the land.
The visit gave the students a unique opportunity to witness the workings of Parliament up close and to learn about its crucial role in shaping the future of our nation. Each department within the National Parliament appointed a representative to deliver an insightful presentation about their roles and responsibilities, helping the students better understand how Parliament functions behind the scenes.
One of the students said, “Visiting Parliament today has opened my eyes to how our leaders make decisions for the country. It inspires me to work hard so that one day I can also contribute to our nation’s progress.”
Parliament’s Principal Civic Education Officer, Mr. Young Virivolomo, also shared his thoughts on the visit, saying, “It is always encouraging to see young people taking an interest in how Parliament works. We hope this visit motivates them to become responsible citizens and future leaders.”
The National Parliament remains committed to promoting civic education and welcomes school visits as an important way to inspire the next generation to take an active role in governance and nation-building.
