The Solomon Islands High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea, His Excellency William Soaki, warmly hosted members of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Band at the Solomon Islands Chancery in Port Moresby on Sunday, ahead of their performance at the inaugural Pacific Police Tattoo.
The RSIPF Band is in Papua New Guinea to represent Solomon Islands at the regional event, which will be held on 22 July at the Sir Hubert Murray Stadium.
The Pacific Police Tattoo brings together police bands from across the Pacific to showcase ceremonial drills and musical performances that reflect the regionโs rich policing heritage and cultural diversity.
In his welcoming remarks, High Commissioner Soaki expressed pride in the bandโs participation, noting the significance of their role as cultural ambassadors.
โThe RSIPF Band is the pride of our police force,โ he said.
โI have no doubt you will deliver an outstanding performance that will make our nation proud.โ
Speaking on behalf of the band, Acting Band Master Benjamin Baura thanked the High Commissioner for his warm hospitality and encouragement.
He affirmed the bandโs commitment to perform at their best and uphold the legacy of those who have come before them.
The RSIPF Band is scheduled to depart Port Moresby on 23 July 2025, traveling to Brisbane before returning to Honiara.
