Kirakira, Makira/Ulawa Province – 23 July 2025 – The Correctional Service Solomon Islands (CSSI) Commissioner, Mactus Forau, has proudly announced the promotion of two dedicated officers during his official visit to the Kirakira Correctional Centre.
The two officers, Elvis Wamela and Gracely Maniie, were promoted to the rank of Sergeant in recognition of their outstanding service, dedication, and commitment to upholding the integrity and security of the correctional centre.
Commissioner Forau congratulated the newly promoted officers and praised their professionalism and devotion to duty.
“Despite the daily challenges you face in both life and work, the efforts you put into ensuring the safety and security of our correctional facilities are extraordinary. Your commitment and professionalism contribute significantly to the positive changes within the correctional system and to the wider Solomon Islands community,” said Commissioner Forau.

These promotions reflect CSSI’s ongoing commitment to recognising and nurturing leadership within the service, strengthening its mission to deliver a safe, secure, and effective correctional system for the nation.
Newly promoted Sergeant Elvis Wamela expressed gratitude for the appointment and the trust placed in him.
