Honiara, Solomon Islands — The Solomon Islands will once again take its place on the global football stage, this time through one of its finest referees.
Ben Aukwai has been named among 27 referees worldwide chosen to officiate at the upcoming FIFA U-17 Men’s World Cup 2025 in Qatar, which runs from 3–27 November. The tournament will showcase the brightest young talents in world football.

Aukwai, widely recognised as one of Oceania’s leading match officials, will join an elite team of referees entrusted with upholding the spirit of fair play at one of FIFA’s most prestigious youth competitions.
His appointment marks another proud milestone for Solomon Islands football, highlighting the nation’s growing presence not only on the pitch but also in global officiating.
