Honiara — The President of New Caledonia, H.E. Alcide Ponga, today visited the Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) Headquarters while in Honiara for the 54th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting.
President Ponga was welcomed by Acting FFA Director-General Dr. Pio Manoa, who provided a briefing on FFA’s work before leading a tour of the Regional Fisheries Surveillance Centre.
Although New Caledonia is not an FFA member, it continues to collaborate closely with FFA Members on fisheries management. In July 2024, New Caledonia strengthened its partnership with the Agency through the signing of a historic Memorandum of Understanding, paving the way for deeper cooperation in the years ahead.
