HONIARA, SOLOMON ISLANDS (15 September 2025): The Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Secretariat has officially handed over the MSG Observer Group (MSGOG) Report of the 2024 Solomon Islands National General Elections (SINGE) to the Solomon Islands Government.
The handover was done by a team led by the Acting Director General, Ilan Kiloe, to the Chief Electoral Officer, Jasper Highwood Anisi and staff of the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission (SIEC).
ADG Kiloe stated that the successful conclusion of the Observer Mission is yet another milestone achievement for the MSG.

He expressed his appreciation to the Solomon Islands Government, through the SIEC for the confidence given to the MSG Secretariat to observe the Solomon Islands National General Elections which was held on 17 April 2024.
โThe MSGOG is a mandate of our Leaders to observe national elections upon request by our Members and these exercises are part of our efforts to assist Members strengthen their electoral processes in accordance with the โMSG 2038 Prosperity Plan for Allโ,โ he noted.
The MSGOG Report observed that the outcomes of the 2024 Solomon Islands Elections were embraced by the citizens of the Solomon Islands and that the atmosphere during the elections was peaceful.

Mr Kiloe related that in general the Team found that the 2024 SING was successfully conducted and that the Group was encouraged by the manner in which the elections were conducted.
CEO, Mr Jasper Anisi, in receiving the report, conveyed his sincere appreciation to the MSG Secretariat and assured the Secretariat that the report and its recommendations will be followed up on.
The MSGOG was led by Vanuatu as the Chair of the MSG at the time of the Mission and comprised representatives from Fiji, FLNKS, and Solomon Islands. The Group was supported by staff of the MSG Secretariat.
