The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) are warning the motor vehicle users and owners to display the registration number plate on their vehicle.
Police remind motorist that driving or using a motor vehicle without a displayed registration number is unlawful and poses serious concerns for road safety, crime prevention and public accountability.
Police have observed a growing number of motor vehicles operating on public roads without displaying registration number plates.ย
Police Commissioner Ian Vaevaso, said โunder Section 12 (Identification Plates) of the Road Transport Act, all registered motor vehicle must display approved registration plates at all timed when used on public roads. Failure to comply with this requirement constitutes an offence under the Act and may result in arrest, charges, and court fine.โ

Commissioner Vaevaso said with the ongoing police target road checks and patrols police will deal with any person found operating a vehicle without clearly displayed registration number plate.
This enforcement is not intended to inconvenience law-abiding motorist but to improve road safety and compliance with national law.
Police strongly advise all vehicle owners and drivers to ensure your vehicles are properly registered and display official registration plates as required by law.
