Just Play Solomon Islands and Hookin4Health Solomon Islands came together to celebrate Safe Sports Day with a fun-infused children’s festival at the SIFF Academy Sports Ground.
The festival, attended by approximately 200 children in Honiara town, had the theme “See Something, Say Something”. It aimed to raise awareness about the importance of creating a safe and inclusive environment for children in sports and their homes.
Volunteers from both organizations set up six stations with their unique themes and fun games, providing a day of excitement and learning for the children as they rotated through each station.
“We are thrilled to be able to celebrate Safe Sport Day with the children of Honiara. Our theme, ‘See Something, Say Something’, highlights the importance of speaking up for the safety and well-being of children in sports,” said Maria Rarawa, the Social Responsible Manager of SIFF Just Play Solomon Islands.
Rarawa also expressed her gratitude to all the children, volunteers, and Hookin4Health Solomon Islands for their involvement in making the day a successful one.
The festival not only provided a fun day for the children but also raised awareness about the need for a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for children in sports.
