Public Interest COVID-19 ESP Audit Report to be Debated in Parliament

In a significant development, Prime Minister Manele has announced that the much-anticipated public interest COVID-19 Economic Stimulus Package (ESP) Audit report will be tabled and debated in Parliament on Friday, November 15th.

This announcement comes as the people of Solonon Islands are frustrated with ongoing concerns regarding theĀ  management and allocation of the SBD309 Million COVID-19 ESP funds.

The motion for this debate has been moved by opposition leader MP Mathew Wale, reflecting a growing demand for transparency and accountability in how public resources have been utilized during the pandemic.

Adding to the public interest, the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has remained silent since their last statement, Police Commissioner said that they were still waiting on report from Office of the Auditor General on referral(s) for investigation. This lack of communication has left many community leaders anxious for answers regarding the handling of COVID-19 funds.
