During the recent academic year closure and graduation ceremony of Mbitaama school in North Malaita, a special guest attended the occasion. A former student and the current member of Parliament for North Malaita, Daniel Waneoroa, was pleased to be back at his school, reflecting on his own school experiences, both good and challenging.
He presented the school with a Starlink, believing that this technology will enhance teaching and learning, as well as provide easy access to online training. He is hopeful that by mid-2025, all schools in North Malaita will be connected, enabling them to access information that will significantly improve education in the region.
Technology has the potential to transform education, and the gift from the Honorable to Mbitaama School marks the start of efforts to improve education in North Malaita.
