China attaches great importance in developing civil aviation relations with Solomon Islands

The People’s Republic China reaffirms great importance to developing civil aviation relations with Solomon Islands, offering to promote bilateral civil aviation cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.

His Excellency Song Zhiyong, Administrator of the Civil Aviation Administration of China reassured Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele MP during a short but memorable courtesy visit.

His Excellency Song assured Prime Minister Manele that China is taking visible steps alongside Solomon Islands in reforming a vibrant, connected, accessible and Safe Communication and Aviation Services with the signing of Two Memorandum of Understanding.

The MOUs cover bilateral traffic rights arrangement and comprehensive civil aviation cooperation.

Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele believes, the MOUs will lay the legal foundation for the two countries to establish air links and establish a mechanism for both sides to enhance practical cooperation in aviation.

The Prime Minister congratulate the Civil Aviation Administration of China and the Solomon Islands Ministry of Communication and Aviation for the successful signing of the Two MOUs.

Aviation safety, markets and benefits will be boosted.

This is an important action to implement the Government for National Unity and Transformation’s policy regarding civil aviation, he stressed.

Prime Minister Manele affirmed Solomon Islands’ recognition and respect for the One China Principle.

The Five-year-old Solomon Islands- China relations continue to grow and prosper, displaying unrivalled accomplishment and enhanced people to people relations.

The Air Services and Technical Cooperation MOUs were signed by His Excellency Song and Minister for Communication and Aviation Hon. Fredrick Kologeto MP, witnessed by Prime Minister Manele and the Chinese Ambassador to Solomon Islands His Excellency Cai Weiming.
