HIV Cases Mainly Come From Five Places in Solomon Islands

Last week, during the 2025 Appropriation Bill 2024 debate, the Health Minister, Hon. Bosawai updated the house about the country’s fight with HIV/AIDS.

He highlighted that the Solomon Islands has reported a rise in new HIV cases this year, with 7 new infections recorded. The patients are in the age range of 19 to 25.

The total number of recorded HIV cases in the country since 1994 is 47 cases.

The Minister then stated that HIV cases  mainly come from these five places in Solomon Islands;

Honiara (Capital City), Malaita Province, Western Province, Isabel Province, and Temotu Province.
