AUSTRALIA SUPPORTS MINISTRY OF FINANCE AND TREASURY PAYROLL SERVICES

Payroll services at the Ministry of Finance and Treasury have received an efficiency upgrade following the handover of nine new computer monitors from Australia.

The Solomon Islands Government is one of the largest employers in Solomon Islands, and the Payroll Division has the important responsibility of managing payroll for the whole of government.
The screens will help staff efficiently and reliably deliver essential payroll services.

Australia’s High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, His Excellency Rod Hilton, said across the country many people dedicate their lives to the Solomon Islands public service, including as teachers, police officers and Ministry officials.

“This handover of equipment is more than just a technology upgrade, it will help ensure public servants receive their pay on time so they can continue to support the nation’s development and administration.”

The handover of IT equipment is part of a broader package of support Australia is providing to enhance financial management and compliance at the Ministry of Finance and Treasury, including financial reporting, budgeting, auditing, debt management and professional development.

Australia is Solomon Islands’ nambawan economic partner and is proud to support this initiative.
