Last week, Solomon Islands’ Minister for Health and Medical Services, Dr. Paul Bosawai, signed a Letter of Intent with MIOT International Managing Director Dr. Prithvi Mohandas in Chennai, India. The agreement outlines MIOT’s proposal to provide specialized healthcare services to Solomon Islands citizens, including online consultations, in-country medical support, and world-class treatment for patients referred by the Ministry of Health.
MIOT International Hospital, renowned for its advanced medical technologies and 63 multidisciplinary services, will also offer training attachments for Solomon Islands medical trainees, dispatch specialist teams for critical procedures like cardiac surgery, and conduct biannual health camps in the Solomon Islands at its own expense.

Dr. Bosawai expressed gratitude for MIOT’s commitment and emphasized the importance of strengthening this partnership to improve healthcare for Solomon Islanders. He also thanked MIOT for inviting his delegation to its 26th Founders Day celebrations, highlighting MIOT’s patient-centered motto, “Put patients first.”
Dr. Mohandas welcomed the collaboration, stressing the importance of trust and a strong relationship to deliver better healthcare services to the Solomon Islands. The visit concluded with productive discussions and a clear path forward to address the healthcare needs of the Solomon Islands.
