Solomon Water has plans in place to roll out new and improved Cash Water meters in 2025 as part of our commitment to providing customers with greater control over their water usage and a more convenient way to manage their bills.

The first Cash Water meter rollout in 2016 faced unexpected technical faults, which affected reliability. To ensure that customers continued to have access to water, Solomon Water swiftly switched back to conventional meters while working closely with the supplier to address the issues. Over the past months, our team has been testing and monitoring an upgraded version of the meters in-country to ensure they meet our standards before a full-scale rollout.

Learning from the challenges of the 2016 rollout, Solomon Water has taken a more rigorous and strategic approach to selecting the new meters. The latest Cash Water meters were carefully chosen with specific improvements to address the previous issues, ensuring better performance and reliability. With these improvements in place, Solomon Water has now ordered 2,000 new Cash Water meters for the initial rollout, with plans to expand further in the coming years. These meters will allow customers to track their usage in real time, budget more effectively, and avoid unexpected bills.

To ensure a smooth and hassle-free rollout, Solomon Water has established a multi-department Cash Water Rollout Committee that is working closely together to coordinate the implementation. This team is focused on ensuring the success of the rollout, minimizing disruptions, and making the transition as seamless as possible for our customers.

We understand that many of our customers have been eager for the return of Cash Water meters, and we appreciate your patience as we worked to ensure a reliable system. More details on the rollout schedule and customer registration process will be shared in the coming months.
