Guadalcanal Premier Hon. William Atu held a meeting today with the Japanese Ambassador, H.E. Keiichi Hagiuchi, at the Guadalcanal Provincial Headquarter.
During the meeting, Premier Atu warmly welcomed H.E. Hagiuchi and expressed his appreciation for the Ambassadorโs courtesy visit. He also extended his congratulations on H.E. Hagiuchiโs recent appointment as Japanโs Ambassador to the Solomon Islands.

Premier Atu took the opportunity to express gratitude for Japanโs ongoing contributions to the Solomon Islands, particularly in the fields of infrastructure, health, and education. He highlighted the significant role played by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in supporting Guadalcanal and the countryโs development initiatives.

In response, H.E. Hagiuchi conveyed his pleasure at being in the Solomon Islands and expressed his commitment to continuing Japanโs efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and further assist in the countryโs growth.
As a token of appreciation, Premier Atu presented H.E. Hagiuchi with a traditional Guadalcanalย necklace, symbolizing respect and goodwill.
