Guadalcanal Premier Hon. William Atu held a meeting today with the Japanese Ambassador, H.E. Keiichi Hagiuchi, at the Guadalcanal Provincial Headquarter.

During the meeting, Premier Atu warmly welcomed H.E. Hagiuchi and expressed his appreciation for the Ambassadorโ€™s courtesy visit. He also extended his congratulations on H.E. Hagiuchiโ€™s recent appointment as Japanโ€™s Ambassador to the Solomon Islands.

Premier Atu took the opportunity to express gratitude for Japanโ€™s ongoing contributions to the Solomon Islands, particularly in the fields of infrastructure, health, and education. He highlighted the significant role played by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in supporting Guadalcanal and the countryโ€™s development initiatives.

In response, H.E. Hagiuchi conveyed his pleasure at being in the Solomon Islands and expressed his commitment to continuing Japanโ€™s efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and further assist in the countryโ€™s growth.

As a token of appreciation, Premier Atu presented H.E. Hagiuchi with a traditional Guadalcanalย  necklace, symbolizing respect and goodwill.
