On April 2, 2025, the Tina River Hydropower Project Office conducted a concise yet impactful training session aimed at enhancing stakeholder understanding of the landmark energy project. The session brought together key representatives from the Ministry of Mines, Energy & Rural Electrification (MMERE), Ministry of Finance and Treasury (MOFT), and the Prime Ministerβs Office (PMO).

Organised by the Project Office, the training provided a foundational overview of the Tina River Hydropower Development Project, including insights into how the system is expected to function once operational. The initiative was designed to foster a shared technical understanding among involved government entities as the project progresses.

Project Manager Mr. Pradip led the session, going beyond the basics to introduce participants to core energy concepts relevant to hydropower systems. A standout moment was his explanation of the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE), a key metric used to evaluate the long-term cost-effectiveness of electricity generation.
The training was not only informative but also helped strengthen collaboration between stakeholders, reinforcing their collective commitment to advancing renewable energy development in the Solomon Islands.
