Every student deserves access to a safe and supportive learning environment, a key step toward being ready for the workforce. In a significant boost for education in East Honiara, Australia has officially handed over a newly upgraded classroom at GS Faisi TVET School.

The improvements, funded through the Solomon Islands – Australia Community Partnerships and co-funded by Hon. Ben Maenu’u, include the construction of a second floor. This expansion has effectively doubled the classroom space available for students studying trades, ensuring better access to practical, skills-based learning.

This initiative is part of a broader commitment by Australia, which in 2024 alone supported 100 new community projects across every province of the Solomon Islands.

These projects not only enhance local infrastructure but also create real economic impact, supporting jobs in local hardware and transport businesses and investing directly in Solomon Islands communities.
With upgraded facilities and expanded opportunities, students at GS Faisi TVET are better equipped to thrive in their training and contribute to the country’s workforce.
