RSIPF Takes a Big Step Forward with Creative Police Awareness Program in Honiara

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has taken a bold and commendable step in bridging the gap between the police and the public through an innovative police awareness program recently held in Honiara. The two-day event was a refreshing approach to community engagement, using comedy and creativity to share important information and raise awareness on key issues affecting the country.

One of the most praised parts of the program was RSIPF’s collaboration with three of the most popular social media comedians in the Solomon Islands,  Babasha and Milky from Jnr ReelKingz including Lang from Lang Jokes

These local entertainers performed comedic but informative skits that not only brought laughter but also educated the audience on important topics. The use of humor to address serious issues proved to be an effective tool in capturing public attention and spreading awareness.

The skits tackled a range of relevant issues, including land disputes, where RSIPF emphasized the importance of involving police to ensure such matters are handled safely and peacefully. They also addressed emerging problems like cyber abuse, particularly cases involving the sharing of private images after breakups, a growing concern in today’s digital age.

Substance abuse, especially involving alcohol and drugs, was another key topic. The comedians highlighted how these issues are fueling crime and affecting families and communities across the nation. Domestic violence, a long-standing issue in the Solomon Islands, was also brought into the spotlight, with the performers encouraging victims and bystanders to seek police assistance and support services.
