Member of Parliament for North Guadalcanal, Hon. Dr. Paulson Popora Bosowai, has spoken out strongly following reports of a suspected murder near GPPOL 2 in his constituency.
“I write with a heavy heart upon learning from social media and RSIPF news about a suspected rape and murder incident in my constituency, near GPPOL 2,” said Hon. Bosowai.
“While the police are still investigating the matter, I, as the Member of Parliament for North Guadalcanal, condemn this act and call on the responsible culprit to surrender to the police and ensure justice is served.”
Hon. Bosowai reminded all North Guadalcanal residents of the importance of maintaining peace and respect within their communities.
“I strongly oppose such incidents within North Guadalcanal Constituency. I call on all residents to uphold peace, unity, and to promote respect among all who reside in our constituency.”
He emphasized that North Guadalcanal is a key area for national development and must continue to set a positive example for the rest of the country.
“North Guadalcanal is home to major development within the Solomon Islands, and our residents must respect and value the diverse cultural backgrounds of all provinces in the country.”
While reaffirming his commitment to economic progress in the area, Hon. Bosowai, who is also the Minister of Health and Medical Services stressed that peace and dignity must be the foundation of all development.
“As I continue to promote economic development in the constituency, I also call for peace, respect, and justice for all human lives. Development is only possible when we have deep respect for one another and commit to protecting human dignity.”
He concluded by extending heartfelt condolences to the grieving family.
“On behalf of the good and loving people of North Guadalcanal, I extend our sincere condolences to the family of the victim. We pray that justice will soon be served. Once again, I condemn such acts that threaten innocent lives, especially women and children within my constituency.”
Meanwhile Tetere Police is currently investigating this suspected rape and murder case, and calling on anyone with information to contact the Police.
