Last week marked a significant milestone for the Kwaio Highlands community as tribal members from the four Baru conservation areas joined hands to prepare the site for a much-anticipated Village Aid Post. This collaborative effort underscores the strong communal spirit and shared vision for improved healthcare access in the region.

One of the major undertakings during the site preparation involved clearing the allocated land and digging the foundation area in readiness for the construction phase. The activity brought together people of all ages, demonstrating unity and a collective commitment to better health services.

The Village Aid Post is expected to provide essential medical support to remote communities who currently face long journeys to access basic healthcare. This grassroots initiative not only paves the way for improved health infrastructure but also highlights the power of community-driven development.

Construction is set to begin in the coming weeks, marking a new chapter for healthcare delivery in the Kwaio Highlands.
