Honiara, 6 June 2025 — The Temotu community in Honiara came together in a joyful celebration today for the Temotu Second Appointed Day, held under the theme “One People, One Vision, Advancing Temotu Together.” The event, organised by the Honiara Temotu Committee, aims to promote unity and cultural pride among the people of Temotu Province.

The day began with a lively float parade from Kukum Field Campus to the SINU Cultural Village at Panatina FOPA, starting at 6:30 am and continuing until 5:00 pm. The celebration featured traditional singing, dancing, and artistic displays that showcased the rich cultural heritage of Temotu.

Speaking on behalf of the organising committee, Mr. Michael Daiwo emphasised the importance of the event in uniting the Temotu community. “This celebration is about promoting the uniqueness of our culture and identity. It is a time for us to come together as one family and reflect on our shared vision for Temotu,” he said.

The event will be ending on Sunday, 8 June, with a Thanksgiving church service. Mr. Daiwo encouraged all Temotu people in and around Honiara to attend, regardless of their level of participation. “Your presence alone is a gift to our leaders and a symbol of our unity,” he added.
