The Guadalcanal Provincial Planning Development Committee (GPPDC) concluded its important three-day meeting last Friday at the GPHQ. This meeting was heldย  in preparation for the Provincial Assembly meeting next week.

Second, PCDF Project Procurement Update which provides updates on procurement processes for upcoming and ongoing PCDF projects, ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective use of resources.

Third, the Ward Grant Expenditure Reports by Chairpersons where the 21 chairpersons presented detailed reports on how their allocated grants were spent, offering insight into the impact of funds at the grassroots level.

Fourth, the Strategic Development Plan 2025/2026 – 2035/2026 which discusses the long-term development strategies for the province, outlining key goals and objectives for the next decade to ensure sustainable growth and improved living standards for all citizens.

Next, the Financial Reporting Overview (Recurrent & Capital Budget), which provides aย  comprehensive financial report covering both recurrent and capital budgets, aimed at providing an overview of current financial health and ensuring proper allocation of funds to critical sectors.

Last, the GG4GG (Guadalcanal Government for Good Governance) Policy Strategy Overview, which looks at the GG4GG’s policy strategy on enhancing governance frameworks to support effective, transparent, and inclusive growth.

The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Finance and Treasury, Hon. The Minister emphasized the importance of collaboration and diligent planning for the province’s future.

The GPPDC plays a key role in the budget cycle of the Provincial Assembly, ensuring that development initiatives are closely aligned with both community needs and financial realities. The meeting concluded on a high note withย  a clear focus on improving the livelihoods of Guadalcanal people in the rural communities through efficient governance and strategic service deliveries.
