Honiara, Solomon Islands — A two-day Live Music concert is set to rock celebrations marking the country’s 47th Independence Anniversary on Sunday, 6 and Monday, 7 July.
The music concert will feature some of the country’s top bands, artists, string bands, and gospel bands.
The concert is a free-to-watch event to be hosted at the SINU FOPA Village Stage, currently being used to host the 2025 National Trade Fair.
The concert features different types of musical genres, ranging from Island beats, Country, Reggae, Gospel, and cultural performances.
Chair of the Entertainment Sub-Committee, Mr Benedict Horuna, said the concert will start on Sunday, 6th July, with gospel bands and on Monday, 7 July, with bands of all genres throughout the day.

“The concert is hosted by the Government through the Organising Committee to give back to the Community, especially Honiara residents, to celebrate and enjoy this year’s 47th Independence Anniversary through music and dance,” Horuna said.
Entry to the music concert is free.
Meanwhile, the Official Independence Parade by the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force and Uniform Groups will be staged at the National Stadium from 6:00 am to 10:00 am on Monday, 7th July.
The program will begin with a float parade throughout Honiara City to the National Stadium.
The Organising Committee is also offering prizes for the best float.
Organisations invited to join the float are encouraged to work hard in order to win the prizes.
