Woodford School Launches Art Competition Open to All Students – Win Up to $3,000SBD

Honiara, Solomon Islands — Woodford International School, in collaboration with the International Small Islands Studies Association (UK) and professors from the University of Kentucky (USA), has officially opened entries for an art/design competition, open to all school-aged Solomon Islands citizens.


The theme, “The Solomon Islands in the Global Context,” encourages students to creatively express how they see their country’s place in the wider world through painting, sketching, or digital design.

This is a public competition, not limited to Woodford students, and aims to give all eligible young artists across the country a chance to showcase their talent.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three entries:

1st Place: $3,000 SBD
2nd Place: $2,000 SBD
3rd Place: $1,000 SBD

Winners may also have their artwork published internationally, providing broader exposure for their creative voices.

Submissions are now open and close on Friday, 22 August 2025, at 3:00 PM.
