Security Supervisor Mr. Ngabdullah Dies After Robbery Incident at Honiara Airport Site

Honiara — It is with deep sorrow that the passing of Mr. Ngabdullah, an Indonesian Security Supervisor with China Railway Construction Engineering Group Company Limited (CRCEG), is confirmed. He died on 8 July 2025 at the National Referral Hospital from injuries believed to have been sustained during a violent robbery at the Honiara International Airport construction site on 2 July, where he reportedly attempted to intervene.

Mr. Ngabdullah was a respected and dedicated member of the CRCEG security team. Known for his professionalism, integrity, and courage, he made a lasting impression on his colleagues and all who worked with him.

Condolences have been extended to his family, friends, and the Indonesian community during this difficult time. CRCEG, in coordination with relevant authorities, is working to ensure the dignified repatriation of his body to Indonesia.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has launched an active investigation into the incident. Authorities have assured the public that appropriate actions will be taken once the full circumstances are determined.

The Solomon Islands Government has strongly condemned this senseless and appalling act of violence, affirming that such acts have no place in society.
