Honiara — Just days after being heartbreakingly knocked out of the Solomon Cup 2025 semi-finals, Lauru Kuvojo and their loyal fans are holding on to newfound hope following a crucial announcement from the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF).
SIFF confirmed that the semi-final matches have been officially postponed to Monday, 21st of July, instead of this weekend a move made to allow time for further legal review and appeals in light of ongoing disputes, including the controversial forfeit win awarded to Western Football Association (WFA) over Makira Ulawa (MUFA).
That earlier ruling had pushed Lauru Kuvojo from second place to third, eliminating them from the semi-finals stage despite earning their spot through a hard-fought win.
But now, with the Lauru Football Association (LFA) submitting a formal demand to overturn the Disciplinary Committee’s decision, and with SIFF acknowledging the need for more time to consider judicial matters, the door to the semi-finals is not entirely closed.
“The fight isn’t over yet,” said a passionate Lauru supporter. “This delay gives us hope. SIFF has a chance to make it right.”
The new schedule with semi-finals on Monday and the grand final moved to Thursday, 24th of July, has shifted the mood entirely for Lauru fans. What once felt like an unfair exit now feels like a chance for justice to be served.
