Australia is committed to ensuring that every student has access to a safe and secure learning environment. As part of this effort, the Australian Government has funded the construction of a perimeter fence at Ilia Community High School in East Honiara, Solomon Islands.

This initiative, delivered through the Solomon Islands-Australia Community Partnerships, aims to protect the schoolβs property and ensure that students have a safe area to focus on their studies without distractions.

In 2024, Australia extended its support by funding 100 new community projects across every province of the Solomon Islands, with a total investment of over SBD 23 million directed towards Solomon Islands businesses. This funding shows Australia’s commitment to supporting local communities and enhancing educational infrastructure.

The Australian High Commission is currently accepting applications for further Solomon Islands-Australia Partnership projects, with a deadline of 23 March. For more details, visit the Solomon Islands-Australia Community Partnerships page.
