The Solomon Islands National University (SINU) Campus Life and Welfare Services Department successfully launched the Campus Sports Activities on Friday, 21st March, at the Kukum Campus New Hostels Hall, in collaboration with the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS).
The department plays an important role in supporting students’ academic success and overall well-being. SINU is dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment that addresses students’ diverse needs, including health and wellness, academic support, and community engagement.

The launch event featured engaging sports activities from 1 PM to 4 PM, marking the beginning of an exciting and meaningful partnership between SINU and SINIS. Speaking at the event, Business Investment and Commercial Services Manager, Mr. Samson Bisafo, highlighted the significance of this initiative,“today’s launch is more than the beginning of a program; it is a commitment.
A commitment to ensuring that our campus is not just a place of learning but a community where students feel supported, connected, and empowered. At the heart of these activities is our belief that student welfare extends beyond the classroom. It’s about nurturing the whole person physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially.

Mr. Bisafo noted that the partnership with SINIS reflects a shared vision to create opportunities for students to thrive through sports, wellness initiatives, social events, and support services. He reiterated that together, SINU and SINIS aim to build a vibrant campus life that promotes inclusivity, encourages participation, and creates a welcoming and inclusive community.
Encouraging student engagement, Mr. Bisafo urged students to take advantage of the programs and activities available, emphasizing that participating in clubs, wellness programs, and social interactions would not only enhance their time at SINU but also contribute to their personal and professional growth beyond university life.
Acknowledging the collaboration with SINIS, Mr. Bisafo expressed gratitude for their commitment to enhancing campus life and welfare services. He emphasized that collective efforts can lead to meaningful and lasting change and officially declared the commencement of the SINU Campus Life and Welfare Activities for 2025.
The launch of the ‘SINU Campus Life and Welfare Activities for 2025’ was attended by National Hosting Authority (NHA) Executive Director Christian Nieng, SINIS Sport Education Manager Atueta Balekana, as well as SINU students, staff members, and SINIS representatives.
SINU extends its sincere appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of this event and looks forward to building on the strong foundation established through this partnership.
