The Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) Healthy Life Style Leaf Hut Table Tennis Club members applauded and thanked their fellow team member, a Para Athlete Rodney Satini for winning a Gold-Medal at the recent Pacific Mini Games in Palau, 2025.
The Healthy Life Style Table Tennis Club showed him their appreciation through thanking and giving Mr. Satini a traditional Solomon Islands necklace and SI flag. The healthy life style Leaf Hut club comprises of 22 members who most of them are MHMS and NRH officers, and Satini a Para athlete.
The Healthy Life Style, Leaf Hut Table Tennis Club spokesperson Mr. Francis Saverio said Satin joined the leaf hut team in 2018 He joined many competitions with the Healthy life styles during the past years. Through these years he developed his skills and confidence during his games with the able members. In 2024 the Leaf hut club host total of five competitions throughout the year and during the last competitions Satini won the first prize.
“Satini attended the leaf hut table tennis club twice a day, the lunch hour games and the evening games. He travels from his home at Green Valley to the Ministry of Health and Medical Services to play, he always attended the game every day even sometimes when facing hardship of getting bus-fare. Also, during bad weather, Satin always makes an effort to attend games.
“Through his drive and ambition of playing table tennis, and his recent achievement in the Mini Games. We want to say thank you and wish Satin well in his training and future competition”, said Saverio.
Meanwhile, his achievement during his time with the Leaf Hut Club, Para Athlete Rodney Satini in the 2023 Pacific Games under the Para Table Tennis Oceania Championship in single category won 2 silvers and double category won a medal. Whereas, year 2025 Pacific Mini Games he snatched a gold medal in single category.
