The Solomon Islands Trauma Healing Association (SITHA) successfully concluded a four-day trauma healing training workshop today at Vura Community School, Honiara. The event brought together youth and children from the surrounding communities, equipping them with emotional and spiritual tools to navigate life’s challenges with resilience.
Representing the SITHA Executive Leadership, Mrs. Pauline Firisua expressed heartfelt gratitude to the principal and staff of Vura Community School for generously providing the venue and supporting the event. She extended appreciation to the young participants for their enthusiastic involvement throughout the training, emphasizing that the skills and knowledge gained would empower them to stand strong in the face of life’s trials.

“This training is not just about healing past wounds,” Mrs. Firisua said, “but also about building inner strength, character, and resilience for the future.”
Mrs. Janet Light, the Chairlady of SITHA also extended special thanks to Pastor Jeremiah Dauara, who presented New Testament Bibles titled Identity: Identified to 11 participating youths, and “Fas Baebol Blong Me” children’s Bibles to 12 young attendees.
In his response, Pastor Jeremiah acknowledged the generous support and partnership of the Bible Society of the South Pacific (BSSP) and the Bible Society of the Solomon Islands, who made the donation of the Bibles possible. He emphasized the importance of grounding young people in the Word of God as a foundation for healing, identity, and spiritual growth.
The workshop marked a significant step forward in SITHA’s ongoing mission to promote trauma healing and emotional well-being among the youth of Solomon Islands through faith-based initiatives.
