Prime Minister Honourable Jeremiah Manele, MP, has reaffirmed Solomon Islandsβ strong commitment to Melanesian solidarity during a bilateral meeting with the Acting Director General of the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG), Ilan Kiloe.
The Acting Director General congratulated Prime Minister Manele for successfully hosting the 54th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting and assured him of MSGβs full support. He also briefed the Prime Minister on key MSG priorities, including the rebuilding of the MSG Secretariat headquarters in Vanuatu, support for New Caledoniaβs decolonisation process, and upcoming initiatives on ocean protection and conservation in Tropa and Temotu.

In response, Prime Minister Manele highlighted the importance of MSG as a platform for unity, security, and economic cooperation. He welcomed MSGβs continued support in strengthening security capabilities, advancing regional integration in trade and digital connectivity, and promoting conservation efforts.
Both leaders agreed on the importance of continued engagement and expressed support for accrediting MSG as a Council of Regional Organisations of the Pacific (CROP) agency to strengthen its regional role.
