3 Inmates of Rove Central Correctional Centre Baptized

Honiara, Solomon Islands (14th September 2025) Pastor Jacob Sam of South Sea Evangelical Church (SSEC), had the privilege of administering baptism to three inmates incarcerated at Rove Central Correctional Centre (RCCC) at the SSEC baptism site

The inmates, Medana Aligao, Harrison Ulavania and John Manassah, made a public commitment to Jesus Christ, thus affirming their newfound faith in Him. These three inmates have discovered hope in their spiritual rebirth despite their current status. They have been meeting Jesus Christ during their morning, afternoon and evening devotion within the prison confines.

Pr. Jacob expressed his profound joy and gratitude for the opportunity to witness these inmates find new life in Christ. He firmly believes that their baptism is a powerful testimony to the transformative power of God’s love and grace. He thank and appreciated the Commissioner for allowing this important ceremony to occur at the SSEC Church Headquarters in Honiara.

Inmate John Manassah (Baptized name Paul) shared in his testimony that his life before meeting Jesus Christ was a mess. He lived a life of sinful, not making good things to glorify my God. Today I surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus Christ, and I know He will forgive all my sins. I’ve praising God for this win and know that heaven is celebrating with me.

On behalf of the office of the Commissioner of the Correctional Service of Solomon Islands, CSSI Chaplain Pr. John Tuafai acknowledge and thanked the South Sea Evangelical Church (SSEC) Board members, eldership board and church ministry for their commitment to bring hope and healing to those who are imprisoned. Through their ministry, they aim to help inmates find a sense of resolution and direction, as well as a deeper understanding of God’s love and forgiveness, thereby transforming lives within the prison wall.
