Acting Prime Minister Hon. Kologeto MP delivering his statement
Honiara, 19 September 2025-The Acting Prime Minister, Honourable Frederick Kologeto, MP, hosted a formal appreciation dinner last night to mark the success of the 54th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting.
In his address, Acting Prime Minister Kologeto highlighted the collective national effort behind what has been widely regarded as the most successful Forum Leaders Meeting in the history of the Pacific Islands Forum. He conveyed his sincere gratitude to all stakeholders for their unwavering commitment, professionalism, and spirit of cooperation, which contributed significantly to this historic achievement.
The Acting Prime Minister acknowledged divine providence, recognising the guiding hand of Almighty God throughout the planning and execution of the event.
He further extended appreciation to the Prime Minister, Cabinet, and Government Caucus for their leadership and for ensuring the necessary budgetary provisions were in place to support the hosting of the Forum.
Hon. Kologeto paid special tribute to Solomon Islands’ international development partners for their generous and timely support, without which the event’s success would not have been possible.

He expressed gratitude to the Government and People of Australia for contributing over SBD 100 million towards critical logistical and infrastructural support, including 61 vehicles for the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force, solar air-conditioning systems, road repairs, and emergency air transport services.
The Government and People of the Republic of Indonesia, contributed approximately SBD 11 million and generously sponsored the leaders’ official attire throughout the meeting.
He thank the Government and People of the People’s Republic of China, for their support amounting to approximately SBD 8.5 million, facilitating the provision of 27 official vehicles (GWM SUV Tanks).
The Government and People of New Zealand’s support was approximately SBD 1.5 million to assist in hosting the Forum, PM Kologeto acknowledged.
The Acting Prime Minister also expressed appreciation to State-Owned Enterprises, private sector organisations, and local contractors whose technical expertise and logistical support were instrumental to the success of the event. He also commended the efforts of national security and border agencies for ensuring the safety and smooth entry of visiting delegates.
In addition, he acknowledged the vital role of the National Sports Council and the PG2023 National Hosting Authority for availing world-class facilities and venues during the event period.
Hon. Kologeto took the opportunity to commend the people of Solomon Islands for their hospitality, unity, and national pride, which left a lasting impression on the visiting leaders and delegations.
He also conveyed heartfelt thanks to the Co-Chairs and members of the National Organising Committee and subcommittees for their tireless commitment, dedication, and professionalism. Their efforts, often requiring great personal sacrifice, ensured the seamless delivery of one of the region’s most significant diplomatic gatherings.
