Our Telekom Takes People’s Concerns to Heart on Data Costs

Solomon Telekom has announced that new prepaid mobile data plans will be introduced on October 1, 2025, following widespread concerns from the public about the cost of existing bundles. The move comes only days after Opposition Leader Hon. Mathew Wale echoed these frustrations in a press statement, adding weight to the call for more affordable connectivity.

In its official press release on Thursday, 25th September 2025, Telekom said:

“Over the past few days, many of you have shared your concerns regarding our recently published prepaid mobile data plans. We want you to know that your feedback has been heard. We have taken your concerns to heart and are making further revisions that will offer better value. The new revised prepaid mobile data plans will be available on the 1st October 2025.”

For many families, students, and businesses, the high cost of data has long been a challenge. Telekom’s decision to revisit its plans has been warmly welcomed as a clear sign that the company values its customers and is committed to serving them better.

The move has given hope that improved, fairer data services are on the way, a change that will strengthen connections, support learning, and expand opportunities for all Solomon Islanders.
