OSAKA, Japan, 3rd October 2025: The Minister of Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration, Hon. Harry Kuma, expressed heartfelt gratitude to dedicated officials and Japanese friends for ensuring the Solomon Islands’ successful representation at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.
Speaking at a dinner to mark the Solomon Islands National Day, Minister Kuma commended the tireless efforts of government officials, particularly the three staff members at the Solomon Islands Pavilion, for their remarkable sacrifices and dedication to showcasing the country’s heritage and culture.

“I must recognize the remarkable sacrifices made by three dedicated staff members at the Solomon Islands Pavilion. Your commitment to remain far from home and your loved ones is both commendable and sincerely appreciated,”Kuma said.
He also extended sincere appreciation to the Government and people of Japan for their invaluable support, which greatly facilitated the Solomon Islands’ participation in the Expo.
Minister Kuma praised Mr Kitano of the Kitano Group of Companies, Commissioner General of the Solomon Islands, for his exceptional leadership and steadfast support for the Solomon Islands’ office at the Expo.
“On behalf of the Government and People of Solomon Islands, I would like to express our profound gratitude to the Government and People of Japan for their invaluable support, which has greatly facilitated our participation,” Kuma said.
“It fills me with immense pride to see the flag of Solomon Islands displayed alongside those of other nations,” he added.
The dinner attended by guests and Solomon Islands students in Japan served as a fitting conclusion to the National Day festivities, which featured meaningful engagements and cultural showcases that highlighted the Solomon Islands’ rich heritage and vibrant culture.
