The Temotu Heritage Museum Project was formally presented to Her Excellency Véronique Roger-Lacan, the French Ambassador to the Pacific, during a meeting held on 19 November 2025 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The presentation was led by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Collin Beck for the Government’s consideration by France.
The meeting was attended by the Honourable Patterson Oti, Speaker of the National Parliament and Chair of the Nende/Nelo Dance Association of Temotu, along with representatives from the traditional voyagers of Taumako and the Vaka Valo Association.

The Government has endorsed the Project, which is reflected in the 2026 draft development budget.
Ambassador Roger-Lacan welcomed the presentation and confirmed that the proposal would be reviewed for potential support.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continue strengthening relations between France and the Solomon Islands.
