The University of the South Pacific Students’ Association Solomon Islands Campus (USPSA SI) has officially sworn in its newly elected President and executive members during a formal ceremony at USP’s 4th Campus in KG, East Honiara.
Laden Kopuria was inaugurated as the new President and expressed his appreciation for the previous leadership team. He acknowledged their dedication and pledged to work in unity with the student body to foster a strong and inclusive campus community.

The outgoing President Alwyn Maesulia extended his gratitude to the students for their support throughout his term in his farewell remarks. He reflected on his personal growth through collaboration with the Student Council and campus leadership. Maesulia offered words of encouragement to the new executives, reminding them that leadership comes with both challenges and opportunities to grow. He assured them of his full support and urged the student community to do the same.
The swearing-in was officiated by Lepani Naqarase, Deputy Secretary-General of the USPSA Federal Office, who traveled from Suva, Fiji, to witness the occasion.
The newly instated executive team takes on their responsibilities as preparations begin for the upcoming USPSA Federal Council Meeting, scheduled for June 2025, to be hosted by the SI campus.
