The Solomon Islands is taking important steps to strengthen how it tracks national development, with support from Australia’s Solomon Islands Infrastructure Program. Led by the Ministry of National Planning and Development Coordination (MNPDC), a comprehensive review of the National Development Strategy Performance Framework is now underway.

The initiative brings together government ministries to refine key performance indicators, address existing gaps, and ensure national development efforts are evidence-based and aligned with long-term goals.
MNPDC Director of Programme Quality, Willie Ningalo, emphasized the importance of this work, stating, “Addressing gaps in our performance framework will enhance the way we track progress and improve outcomes for the Solomon Islands.”

The Deputy Secretary for Governance and Performance Management at the Ministry of Public Service also welcomed the consultations, highlighting that refining the framework will improve accountability and ensure development strategies deliver real results for the people.
Through the SIAusPartnership, Solomon Islands and Australia are working together to build a stronger, more effective approach to measuring progress, helping to shape a better future for all Solomon Islanders.
