National Futsal Team, ‘Kurukuru’ went into training yesterday morning at Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS) in pursuit of good preparation for the upcoming Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Futsal Men’s Cup 2025.
Having undergone induction on Tuesday this week, the national futsal team ‘for the first time’ had ‘gym and skills’ training sessions today at SINIS.

Kurukuru Caretaker and Interim Head Coach, Dickson Kadau speaking to SINIS MEDIA on the team’s current preparation believes that undergoing preparations at the High Performance Centre through its programs and facilities will help the team through the pathway for the upcoming tournament.
“After a few trials, so far we are heading for three months having 24 team members in the training camp preparing them. The boys look forward for the upcoming tournament. I believe they can do their best in September’s OFC Futsal Men’s Cup 2025,” said Kadau.

With the services provided at SINIS towards supporting elite athletes and coaches, Coach Kadau express that he really appreciate the High Performance program to support sport teams.’
“This is where the trainings and proper preparations should take place for the athletes. The program here [SINIS] and the facility is really quality standard on which undergoing training here will motivate the boys to be more well prepared for the games such as in building their strength and confidence,” said Kadau.
Coach Kadau add that training at SINIS by the end of the day will not only boost confidence for sport teams such as Kurukuru to represent the country in the national level but also in the respective club level as well.

“We are happy for the first time that we are now undergoing training session here as we had underwent induction also on Tuesday this week, and as training starts, I am very impressed with the facility at SINIS,” said Kadau.
The OFC Futsal Men’s Cup 2025 will be held in Honiara from September 20-24.
