The Governor General HE Reverend David Tiva Kapu and President Tharman Shanmugaratnam Tuesday this week PC: GCU
On Tuesday, 18th February 2025, His Excellency Reverend David Tiva Kapu, Governor-General of Solomon Islands, paid a courtesy call on Singapore’s President, His Excellency Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
President Tharman warmly welcomed the Governor-General and his delegation, congratulating him on his upcoming knighthood, to be conferred by His Majesty King Charles III in London.
The President reaffirmed the strong bilateral ties between Singapore and Solomon Islands and expressed Singapore’s commitment to supporting Solomon Islands’ development in key areas such as tourism, agriculture, fisheries, and forestry.
In response, Governor-General Kapu thanked President Tharman for the warm reception and highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two nations. Both leaders expressed optimism for enhanced collaboration in the future.
