The Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Services (MPNSCS) today marked a significant step forward in its ongoing efforts to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of its Head Quarter Office operations. This milestone was highlighted during the MPNSCS Functional Review Validation Workshop, where Permanent Secretary Karen Galokale delivered her opening remarks.
PS Galokale opened the workshop by acknowledging the collective commitment to strengthening the Ministry’s core functions.
“This workshop marks an important milestone in our collective effort to strengthen and improve the operations and effectiveness of the Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Services Head Office,” she stated.

She extended her deepest gratitude to Dr. Jerry Siota, the private consultant leading the review process, for his expertise and guidance. “Dr. Siota, we are truly fortunate to have you guiding us during this crucial review, and we look forward to the insights and recommendations that will emerge from your extensive knowledge and experience,” said Galokale.
The workshop’s primary purpose is to validate the findings and recommendations of the functional review, while also fostering a meaningful dialogue to shape the Ministry’s future.

She underscored the importance of continuous evaluation and improvement, particularly in supporting the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and the Correctional Service Solomon Islands (CSSI).

“The review process has provided us with a comprehensive assessment of our current structures, processes, and resources. It has been a critical tool in helping us to identify areas of strength as well as opportunities for improvement,” Galokale remarked.
She concluded by acknowledging the dedication of all those involved in the review process, reiterating the Ministry’s commitment to fostering a secure environment for all Solomon Islanders.
