Australia is continuing its strong support for the Malaita Christian Care Centre, helping provide vital services and a safe haven for women and children affected by domestic violence in the Solomon Islands.
Through the Solomon Islands – Australia Partnership Program, recent security and renovation upgrades at the centre have been completed, ensuring a safer and more functional environment for survivors seeking refuge. These improvements allow the centre to continue its critical work in protecting and empowering vulnerable members of the community.
In addition, UN Women and Australia are supporting efforts to enhance access to quality domestic violence response services in Malaita. This joint support reflects a shared commitment to building safer communities and improving the lives of survivors across the Solomon Islands.
