In Honiara, a courageous woman is raising awareness for girls and women to be vigilant after she narrowly escaped a kidnapping attempt at a water pump on the west side of the city.
The incident occurred when several men in a car tried to forcibly pull her inside, but she managed to break free and flee. Their pursuit was unsuccessful, as their size affected their speed.
Worried for the safety of girls and women, she has shared her story on social media to aware others about personal safety and the importance of remaining alert in public spaces.
