A social media post on ‘Yumi Tok Tok Forum (YTTF)’ stating that ‘the Staff of Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS) is demanding the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade (MFAET) to pay its bills in cash’ is not true.
The post on social media is in relation to SINIS offering catering service for the Labour Mobility Unit (LMU) program within MFAET using SINIS facilities for its pre-departure briefings for Solomon Islanders selected to join the PALM Scheme to work in Australia.
SINIS has engaged a Chef who is not a Staff member of the High Performance Institute that has done catering for LMU via MFAET.
Currently SINIS is operating under the care of NHA, SINIS does not have any bank account as all payments are facilitated through the NHA Account.
As the cost of meals at SINIS is reasonable, however payment is delayed due to MFAET procurement requirements which is being addressed by SINIS.
The High Performance Institute understands and continues to strive maintaining its integrity by abiding to government payment regulations.
Like the LMU program under MFAET, SINIS would like to thank all stakeholders within the country and overseas who trust and use SINIS services on offer. SINIS is committed to provide professional sports and administration services.
