To the Honorable Premier, Provincial Members, Chiefs, Elders, Leaders, Youth, Women, and the people of Isabel Province,
It is with immense pleasure that I extend my warmest congratulations to you all as you celebrate Isabel Province’s 2nd Appointed Day. This is a proud moment in your provincial journey—a time to reflect on your achievements, honour your cultural heritage, and look ahead with confidence and unity.
Isabel Province holds a special place in the heart of our nation. Your long-standing commitment to preserving the natural environment, promoting traditional values, and supporting peaceful development continues to serve as an example to all Solomon Islanders.
As Minister for Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology, I wish to acknowledge the leadership of Isabel in areas such as reforestation, community-led conservation, and proactive climate resilience. Your pristine ecosystems, biodiversity, and local knowledge are of national significance and vital to our collective efforts to safeguard Solomon Islands from environmental threats.
This day is also a timely reminder of the challenges we face as a nation. Climate change, sea-level rise, and extreme weather events require united action, clear vision, and committed partnerships. Isabel’s strength in community cohesion and stewardship of the land makes you well placed to lead by example.
Let this celebration renew our shared commitment to progress that is inclusive, sustainable, and rooted in respect—for people, culture, and the environment. May the 2nd Appointed Day inspire continued leadership and prosperity for Isabel Province and our nation as a whole.
