Honiara, 2 June 2025 – Twenty-five officers from the Correctional Service of Solomon Islands (CSSI) departed the country yesterday to attend a Seminar Training on Correctional Service in the People’s Republic of China (PRC). The delegation is led by CSSI Commissioner Mactus Forau and Deputy Commissioner of Operations Michael Nagu.
This milestone training is conducted under the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Police Cooperation between the PRC Ministry of Public Security and the Solomon Islands Ministry of Police, National Security, and Correctional Services. The program is facilitated by the Fujian Police College, based in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China.
Commissioner Mactus Forau expressed his gratitude to the Government of the PRC and the Ministry of Public Security for their generous support in hosting the first-ever training of its kind for CSSI in China.
“I sincerely acknowledge the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Public Security for this significant opportunity. This training will enhance the professional capacity of our officers and strengthen bilateral cooperation,” said Commissioner Forau.
He also extended his appreciation to the China Police Liaison Team in Solomon Islands, led by Commissioner Liu, for their efficient and effective support in preparing the delegation.
The CSSI delegation comprises twenty-three male officers and two female officers.
