Miss Solomon Islands makes personal donation to Cancer Unit at NRH

Miss Solomon Islands Elsie Polosovai today presented her donation for the Cancer unit at the National Referral Hospital.

She raised $5,000 during Pinktober by selling home made cakes in Dunedin,New Zealand during the cancer awareness campaign month.

She presented the donation in a ceremony to the Medical Superintendent Dr. Janella Solomon, medical staff media and Solomon Host CEO.

In her short remarks to thank Miss SI, Dr Solomon expressed her gratitude for the kind gesture from Miss Solomon’s describing the gift as very timely and God-sent as the funds will go towards planned events for the patients in the upcoming festive season.

Miss SI then visited the Oncology ward where she met some cancer patients and the donation was handed over to the management and staff of the ward who thank Miss SI for such a kind gesture, in the presence of the patients who were delighted to personally meet Miss SI.
