Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manel and staff of the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet were blessed to have the Rugby Royalty and Sevens Legend, Waisale Tikomaisolomoni Serevi share God’s word during this morning’s devotion.
The King of Rugby Sevens reflected on Jesus Christ, the sovereign King whom “the world need more than ever”.
Testifying God’s love, the member of the World Rugby Hall of Fame said, leaving school at grade Two, his only qualification was his Sunday School Certificate.
With God, he has since travelled to almost 70 countries world-over without spending a penny on airfares and hotel accommodation.
Renowned for his achievement, the celebrated Rugby Sevens wizard said, the world needs the love of God.
The legend explained, his middle name Tikomaisolomoni was given to him by his grandfather who served in Solomon Islands during World War Two. The name means ‘was in the Solomon Islands.’
Prime Minister Manele expressed his excitement that the Rugby Seven’s King accepted OPMC’s invitation to share the Faith.
He adds, the icon is a God fearing Pacific Islands ambassador with a strong following in the Solomon Islands.
The Prime Minister stated, it is an honour to host the Sevens King and the Oceania Sevens tournament this weekend.
Excitement is at its peak as Solomon Islands prepare to host the first Oceania Sevens to be held outside Australia, New Zealand and Fiji from 7th to 8th December at Honiara’s National Stadium.
Athletes, officials, delegates and media, alongside a significant number of visitors begin converging in Honiara for this weekend’s international event………….
